Gene Mattox has over 30 years experience in the property tax field. Prior to co-founding Mattox, Terrell and Associates, Gene spent 15 years with a large nationwide property tax consulting firm as a senior property tax consultant. Prior to the senior tax consultant position, Gene worked for both the City of Houston Property Tax Department and Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District Property Tax Department in administrative capacities. He previously held state designations as a registered Professional Appraiser, registered Texas Assessor/Collector and registered Professional Assessor.
Gene has been on many committees and panels covering all aspects of property taxes and has affiliations with many associations. He has personally negotiated thousands of assessment hearings on all types of commercial property in Texas and Louisiana. He holds a registered Senior Tax Consulting License #1524 for the State of Texas.
Clint
Terrell holds
Senior Property Tax Consultant License #1482 for the State
of Texas as well as a Texas Real Estate Salesman License. In his capacity
as a property
tax consultant, he presently is responsible for the administration
of over $5,000,000,000 in property value. His expertise lies in the valuation
negotiations of real estate as well as personal property,
mineral, and
agricultural valuations. He has personally handled thousands
of appeals with property tax savings in the millions. He negotiated a
ten year abatement
for a 300+ turbine wind farm in Nolan County.
Before co-founding Mattox, Terrell and Associates, Inc., Clint worked
for a large nationwide consulting firm for nine years. Prior
to that, he worked for a Texas appraisal district.
Clint is active in the Texas Association of Property Tax Professionals
and has served on numerous committees. He is also active in
the International Association of Assessing Officers, Houston Apartment
Association, and Houston
Association of Realtors. He has completed numerous continuing
education courses in the area of taxation and has been a guest speaker
at various
conferences and seminars. Clint has also authored various tax
articles for local and national publications.
